Event Description
1st Event

Quick Dress

Objective: Quickly Don turnout gear and run to finish line (50’ from start line)

Required:  All Structural gear:helmet w/chin strap, hood, coat, pantsw/suspenders,firefighting boots and firefighting gloves.All gear must include liners.

(3 Member Team) Team will begin behind a designated start line. After the whistle sounds, the first member will step into the dress area to begin donning turnout gear.  When the first person is finished dressing they should rise their arms signaling that they are dressed and proceed to finish line. When your team members arms raises, the next person can begin. This is to be repeated until the third team member crosses the finish line. (Time stops) A judge will then inspect each member for complete dress including all buckles and or snaps fastened, all zippers zipped and all Velcro flaps fastened. Each infraction will result in a 5 second penalty.At no time will a member be able to correct incomplete donning of gear once they signal being completely dressed, if so the team will be disqualified.

Second Event

Hose-N-Play

Objective: Put hose line in play and knock over cone.

Required: Complete structural turnout gear.

(3 Member Team)  This is a timed event for each team. Each team will be provided (1) 50’ section of 2 ½ hose, (2) 50’ section of 1 ¾ hose, (1) hydrant wrench, spanner wrenches, (1) gated wye and (1) nozzle. Time will start when the whistle blows and from the fire hydrant, the team most use all equipment given to them to put this hose line in play and knock down a designated cone with the water stream. Cone cannotbe knocked over until the remaining members of the team are on one knee behind the nozzle man behind the designated finish line. Then the cone may be knocked over and time will stop. All couplings must be at least hand tight, if water is spraying from any coupling after the cone is knocked over, it will be a 5 second penalty per connection.  If any coupling is left loose and deemed unsafe by the judge, the team will be disqualified .

Third Event

Busted Hose

Required: Complete structural turnout gear.

Objective: Replace busted section of hose with equipment provided behind finish line.

(3 member team) Team will be provided with a hose clamp, (2) 50’ sections of 1 ¾ hose and spanner wrenches to use if needed. The hose line will be 150’ with the middle section (busted) and MUST be replaced. Nozzle will be placed behind a designated line. When the whistle blows, team must clamp the hose behind the busted section, bleed pressure from the nozzle. Disconnect burst hose with bothsection provided without the hose or the nozzle crossing the finish line. Once the line has been reconnected, recharged (unclamped)re-assemble (3) member team at the nozzle. Crew must kneel down. Nozzle man must knock over designated cone and all team members must cross finish line and time stop.If the middle section is not replaced, the team will be disqualified.

Fourth Event

Firefighters Duel

Required:Complete structural turnout gear.

Objective: Keep bucket on opposing side

Two teams each consisting of (3) people. There will be three 30 second rounds. The best 2 out of 3 rounds win. Spray hand line with a smooth bore nozzle at a bucket hanging from an overhead cable. The object is to spray water at the bucket and keep the bucket on your opponent’s side. When the whistle blows at the end of each round, the side of the mark in which the bucket is on loses that round. If the Judge deems that a team intentionally sprays their opponent in the face with the water stream, the team will be disqualified.
